![]() The penalties of Curse are mostly obvious, save for the decreased room clear reward chance. More room drops can be a tremendous boon to a Gungeoneer, and at 10 Curse you're sitting on a 1/5 chance to get a room drop, if you don't mind Lord of the Jammed following you around. With Sixth Chamber, you not only erase that penalty, you also GAIN a 2% increase per level of Curse you have. High curse decreases your chances of getting most room clear rewards except for ammo. One of the subtler, yet still most incredible items in the game. For a C tier item, Cursed Bullets can give a run a huge boost if you don't mind the Jammed. 90% is an incredible damage boost, making otherwise bleh guns into solid room cleaners all on their own. ![]() Not quite as brokenly powerful against the Jammed as Silver Bullets, regardless, high curse has its own benefits in making every enemy that much easier to kill. What is a curse run to a Silver Bullet holder? They make Jammed enemies go down just as quickly as normal enemies, and Jammed bosses actually die even faster! It's almost dumb NOT to go for a curse run if you find these on the first floor. Robot is the best character to play consistent high curse runs without one of the below options available. Robot cares very little for curse, as they cannot double damage him and they simply make for more tedious room clearing as opposed to any other significant threat. It scares a lot of new players away from the curse mechanic, and thus also scares them away from one of the biggest mechanics that can enhance a run.Įven veteran players often like to avoid high curse, unless one or more of these things is true. Triple health and double damage makes for normally difficult enemies like Lead Maiden to suddenly become titanic juggernauts that are about as bad as minibosses themselves. Many new Gungeoneers will avoid Curse like it's the plague, and with good reason-the Jammed are, at first, an extremely dangerous threat. You're not doomed to fail a run that has too much curse in it, after all, but it DOES make it considerably harder. It's confirmed exactly nowhere, but I've seen it so many times that it just has to be, right?Ĭurse is one of the most important mechanics of Gungeon, slightly less important than Coolness and somewhat more important than theft.Ĭurse isn't quite as much 'curse' as it is 'challenge level' in my eyes. I'm 99% certain curse also affects Veteran spawn rates in Bullet and Shotgun kin, because the only times I ever find them in droves are on my 9 curse runs. r/Roguelikes - Reddit's roguelike community! r/DevolverDigital - Reddit's community for Devolver! r/NuclearThrone - Reddit's community for Nuclear Throne - the game that heavily inspired Enter the Gungeon! r/ETGCircleJerk - For all of your shitposting needs. r/ModTheGungeon - Reddit's modding community for Enter the Gungeon!
